A/V Systems Engineer & Sales Support

Judco Communications a commercial A/V systems integration company, is looking for an A/V Systems Engineer to help us in our growing process. There is a great deal of opportunity involved in this position as MDT creates the best solutions available for all our customers. Our vertical markets include commercial, C-level, hospitality, educational and government environments. We deliver fully operational systems and we work during all the steps involved in the development of the AV and control system. We integrate the latest technologies available into our projects and we provide solutions that sometimes the customers themselves though unachievable.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Guide customers to choose the best available option and in their best interest.
  • Create systems designs and drawings to provide the features expected by the end user.
  • Create systems prospects, quotes and scope of work.
  • Build great customer relations for the company based on trust.
  • Help Sales close deals with clear (and realistic) objectives and expectations.
  • Monitor the system integration to ensure the highest quality is delivered.
  • Provide customers with all systems documentations, codes and keys at the end of the project.
  • Guarantee that the customer will be satisfied with the products and services provided during the project.
  • Attend professional development courses that will be available.
  • Constantly grow professionally so the co-workers and customers always feel comfortable with the knowledge and communication skills presented.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Crestron is preferred (min 1 year)
  • Applicants must have proven ability to assess systems requirements and capability to design systems that meet the customer needs.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in systems integration (as a Lead Tech, Engineer or Consultant)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Market and Technology or equivalent working experience. (Associate’s Degree with plans of completing the Bachelor’s in the near future will be taken into consideration)
  • Crestron, Biamp, Cisco, Zoom, Shure, Microsoft and other Certifications are a plus

A/V Systems Technician

Judco Communications is a leading A/V systems design and integration company based in San Diego, Ca. Our mission is to provide our customers with a wide array of audio visual communication products and services that meet both their needs and their budgets. We offer design, installation, documentation and support services for a full range of unique audio visual service solutions including structured wiring solutions (copper networking and fiber optic projects), custom audio, video and conferencing solutions for board rooms, labs, training facilities and theaters, to highly specialized healthcare communications and tracking products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, Execute, Monitor/Control and Complete Audio Visual projects varying in size and complexity
  • Experience with the implementation of Audio Visual solutions
  • Room, floor, wall and reflected ceiling plan equipment location
  • Cable path/conduit call-outs
  • Equipment elevations
  • Equipment environmental heat and airflow
  • Signal flow drawing and documentation
  • AV rack fabrication
  • Cabling industry standards: implementation, support, wire separation, termination, testing and labeling
  • Cable termination/connectivity
  • Category 5, 6 shielded and unshielded,
  • DBx, BNC, XLR, 3.5mm, TRS, RCA, etc…(crimp/solder)
  • Designing and implementing AV overhead and wall-mounted support structures
  • Knowledge of IP addressing and IP networking
  • Software and firmware upgrades
  • Research manufacturer websites/manuals to facilitate solution integration
  • Commissioning
  • QA test
  • Solution acceptance test
  • End-User Training
  • Solution documentation
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
  • Assist the project manager to control the project scope, understand the project financials to control cost and expense
  • Understanding of project technical documents:
  • Assist the project manager to identify the necessary project resources in accordance with the project estimates
  • Control on-site inventory
  • Project status to the project manager
  • Assist the project manager assessing the project/solution risk
  • Manage day to day interaction with the client, build relationships and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction
  • High standard of personal integrity & professionalism
  • Operate and manage in accordance with all company rules and policies
  • Less than 5% overnight travel, mostly local driving
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience with and/or certifications in the following products: Crestron, Biamp, Bose, Cisco, Clearone
  • The ability to organize and manage staff workload in accordance with project requirements
  • The ability to problem-solve and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • The ability to conduct a business meeting, present to an audience and conduct solution training
  • Strong understanding of commercial building construction and the NEC/MA Electrical code
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
  • CAD, Wire CAD, Visio, PowerPoint experience preferred
  • Driver’s License and a reasonable/safe driving record as defined by our insurance company
  • Certifications: CTS, CTS-I, Extron AV Associate preferred
  • Extron, Crestron program experience
  • Licenses: (MA: A, B, C or D), (RI: Telecom), (CT: T, L or C) preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree Technical/Computer Science or a related field (and/or equivalent work experience) with a minimum of 2 plus years working as a lead audiovisual technician
